Four-day course "Thin film optical coatings: from basic theory to modern applications"

The course is oriented to a broad audience of engineers, researches, and university students interested in thin film optics and modern applications of thin film optical coatings. It will provide you with an opportunity to get acquainted with OptiLayer Software and to try its outstanding capabilities through various practical exercises.

The first day lectures will be devoted to basics of thin film optics and will enable effective acknowledgement with the course content even by those attendees that have little to no experience in thin films. Lectures will be given in Chinese or in English with the translation to Chinese.

The second day will allow the attendees to learn main ideas of OptiLayer software and to start working with various modules of this software using carefully selected practical exercises on evaluation and design of optical coatings, import and export of experimental data, characterization of thin films.

The third and fourth days of the course will be devoted to the advanced topics in the design and production of optical coatings. It will be demonstrated how modern thin film software contributes to maximizing production yield and how it allows you to raise the quality of optical coatings to unprecedented level.
