 Uniform color space (UCS)

UCS diagram

CIE UCS (Uniform Color Scale) – 1976.

Goal: the distance between different colors in the color system should correspond to the difference of colors as perceptible by a human eye:

\( u'=\displaystyle\frac{4x}{-2x+12y+3} \)

\( v'=\displaystyle\frac{9y}{-2x+12y+3} \)

Y is luminance factor
